August 2022

Dear Pinebrook Families,

As the PTA President, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome all our Puma Families to the 2022– 2023 school year.  If you are returning to Pinebrook, be sure to know that we are expecting another great year!  If you are new to Pinebrook, we especially welcome you to our community and hope that you are as excited to join us as we are to have you here.  Pinebrook is experiencing a first this year, as we will have 12 Kindergarten classrooms.  While this may present some challenges, the staff is excited and prepared to welcome the Kindergartners from Hovatter, and the PTA can’t wait to support.

The PTA has another exciting year of events and programs in store for the Pinebrook Community.  The best way to get information about events happening with the PTA is through the Puma Paw.  We also have a Facebook Group, “Pinebrook Elementary PTA (Aldie, Virginia)”.  If you are not already a member of the group, please search for us and request to join and complete the questions.  We will also be posting information on our website.

In order to maintain and grow the fantastic community at Pinebrook, we need your help.  The first (and easiest) thing you can do is to join the PTA!  Your $10 membership goes a long way in supporting our academic and social endeavors here at Pinebrook.  In addition, your local dues include membership in the Virginia and National PTAs where you gain access to many valuable parent resources.   To become a member, you can:

  1. Visit Memberhub to join online
  2. You can send payment  it to us via Square

Secondly, we need you to participate by sharing your voice, time and talents.  Research has proven that children do better when their parents are involved both at home and school.  Grades are higher. Test scores rise.  Self-esteem grows.  Schools improve.  To learn about opportunities to volunteer, please attend the Volunteer Coffee on Friday, September 9th, immediately following the Patriot Day Ceremony.  You are also invited to attend our first PTA meeting on Monday, September 12th at 7:00 pm in the school library.  There are many ways to help, either at school or at home.  We are always looking for new ideas that will benefit all our children.  Your contributions of time and talents are truly appreciated as we continue our tradition of making Pinebrook an exceptional school.  I encourage you to be a part of our engaged and exciting community.

Please feel free to contact me with any ideas, questions, or concerns.
